Question 1: When did you start dancing?
Answer: It’s so hard to say when I started dancing. I think I’ve always loved music, but moving my body intentionally as a response came so much later in my life, maybe in Grade 7? I was dancing with my friends, and we had a little hip hop crew back when krumping was cool
Question 2: When did you start teaching?
Answer: I started teaching in 2018
Question 3: What classes do you teach?
Answer: I teach Amapiano and Heels for adults
Question 4: What can you expect from my dance classes?
Answer: What you can expect from my classes is high energy, a laugh, a really light-hearted and funny environment. You can expect a lot of positive reinforcement and affirmation, a confidence booster, and just a place where you really do not need to take yourself too seriously while challenging yourself to try things you otherwise wouldn’t. It’s a really safe environment.
Question 5: When and Why did you start at Five6seven8?
Answer: I started at Five6seven8 in 2018, and I started by simply using the studio space for rental to host private classes of my own. Alissa finally asked me to jump on board as the Heels instructor in 2024. I had always loved the family-like environment that the studio provided, so while I found teaching professionally extremely daunting, I knew that if I challenged myself, I was doing it at the best place.
Question 6: Why do you love to teach dance?
Answer: I love it because I get to look into the mirror with every attempt at a routine and watch my students come out of their shells more and more; that feeling is unrivaled.
Question 7: Why do you love to dance?
Answer: I love to dance because I can’t think of a more freeing and vulnerable way to express anything. The release of tension that comes with dancing makes the human experience more tolerable by a landslide. I can go through anything, but at least I get to dance.
Question 8: Tell us something about yourself
Answer: I’m a better singer than I am a dancer!
